1992
In 1992, Shenghong's predecessor, Shenghong Sand Washing Factory, was established.
1998
In 1998, Shenghong merged the Oriental Silk Printing and Dyeing Group Company with other enterprises, and quickly moved on to large-scale work.

2003—2009
2003
In 2003, Jiangsu Shenghong Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd. was established to build a fusion direct spinning microfiber project.
2007
In 2007, the second phase of the Shenghong Chemical Fiber Project was put into production to become the world's leading microfiber production base.
2008
In 2008, Shenghong's PTT spinning project out of Jiangsu Zhongba Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd. was officially put into production, becoming the world's third PTT chip production base.
Embracing the supply chain and developing petrochemicals
2010—2020
2010
In November 2010, Shenghong signed a petrochemical project with the Management Committee of Xuwei New District in Lianyungang City.
2011
In July 2011, the PTA project with an annual output of 1.5 million tonnes of Honggang Petrochemical began.
2017
In September 2017, the entire process of the first phase of the Sierbang Petrochemical alcohol-based, poly-generation project was successfully completed.
2018
In August 2018, Dongfang Shenghong was restructured and listed.
2019
In June 2019, the National Advanced Functional Fiber Innovation Center led by Shenghong was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, becoming the first national manufacturing innovation center led by a private enterprises in China.
2020
In August 2020, Shenghong was listed in the Fortune World Top 500 for the first time.

2021–present
2021
In December 2021, the second phase of the propane industry chain project for Sierbang Petrochemical was successfully put into production, with its production capacity for acrylonitrile jumping to number 1 in China.
2022
In September 2022, the pilot device of Sierbang Petrochemical POE was successfully put into production, becoming the first enterprise in China to have the independent production technology for photovoltaic-grade EVA and POE advanced photovoltaic membrane materials at the same time.

In December 2022, the largest single-process Shenghong refining and chemical integration project in China was fully put into production.
2023
In March 2023, Shenghong Holding Group won the China Industry Award, known as the "Oscar" of China's industry.

In September 2023, Shenghong Petrochemical's 100,000 tonne/year carbon dioxide-making green methanol project was officially put into production, building the industry's first green negative carbon industrial chain comprising "carbon dioxide capture and utilization, green methanol and new energy materials".

In December 2023, Shenghong Sirbang Petrochemical's fourth acrylonitrile unit commenced operation, increasing Shenghong's acrylonitrile production capacity to 1.04 million tonnes per year, making it the world's largest acrylonitrile producer.
2024
In January 2024, the independently developed and innovatively designed high-end material PETG unit was successfully put into production on the first attempt, ranking first in the country in total production capacity.

In September 2024, Shenghong completed the world's first "from carbon dioxide to polyester fiber" industrial chain and won the IInternational Textile Manufacturers Federation’s Sustainability and Innovation Award.

In December 2024, the pilot plant for new materials in the National East-Central-West Regional Cooperation Demonstration Zone commenced construction in the Shenghong Petrochemical Industrial Park.
2025
In June 2025, Jiangsu Shengbang New Material Co., Ltd.'s 5,000-tonne/year para-aramid fiber project went into mass production, marking a major breakthrough in the key performance for domestically produced para-aramid.

In September 2025, Shenghong Petrochemical's 100,000 tonne/year POE project was put into production.
