On October 17, CCTV's "World Finance" column reported on the Shengze textile industry's development of overseas markets. Among them, the National Advanced Functional Fiber Innovation Center and Aware?, a leading traceability technology company in the Netherlands, cooperated to launch a China-European textile industry chain blockchain technology traceability project to help Chinese textile companies go overseas.
According to CCTV reports, in order to help companies better go overseas, local governments have built a platform this year and introduced a number of authoritative international institutions to provide one-stop services in areas such as rapid textile inspection certification, data traceability and low-carbon transformation to further integrate with the global market.
Recently, the National Advanced Functional Fiber Innovation Center led by Shenghong Holding Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Aware? of the Netherlands to create an efficient, credible and compliant industrial chain traceability closed loop that connects the Chinese supply chain with the EU market.
It is reported that this cooperation will deeply integrate the National Advanced Functional Fiber Innovation Center’s foundation in the application of trusted traceability technology and the construction of a data system in the field of recycled polyester industry chain with Aware?’s blockchain-based traceability to jointly build a verification platform spanning raw materials to finished products.
Feico Van Der Veen, founder and managing director of Aware?, said in an interview with CCTV, "We will introduce traceability technologies such as blockchain through the implementation of the new platform to provide Chinese textile companies with a trustworthy data chain from raw materials to retail terminals, and promote the digitalization and sustainable transformation of the entire textile ecosystem."
As the world's largest synthetic fiber producer, China is actively promoting the transformation of sustainable materials and constantly developing the next generation of sustainable synthetic fiber technology. In addition to using bottles to produce recycled polyester (B2T), China is also making rapid progress in the fields of bio-based materials and carbon dioxide-based polyester fiber (C2T). In April 2024, the Shenghong Holding Group successfully built the world's first green industrial chain of "carbon dioxide capture and utilization-green ethylene glycol-functional polyester fiber". The success of this project marks a major national breakthrough in the field of carbon dioxide-based new fibers.
The cooperation between the Innovation Center and Aware? will provide a solid verification basis for recording and verifying China's sustainable fiber innovation results and promoting them to the global market.
According to the cooperation content, the National Advanced Functional Fiber Innovation Center will provide verified data for the "first mile" of the textile supply chain to ensure that sustainable fibers such as recycled polyester (B2T), bio-based materials and carbon dioxide-based polyester fiber (C2T) start the full life cycle in a real and traceable way. Aware? will expand the application scope of these verified data through its tokenization technology and digital product passport platform based on public blockchain and compliant with international standards.
Mei Feng, chairman of the National Advanced Functional Fiber Innovation Center, said: "By complementing our strengths, we will help China's textile industry move from compliance to global leadership, setting a new benchmark for transparency, responsibility and sustainability."
