The China Development Forum 2026 Annual Conference was held in Beijing from March 22 to 23. Premier Li Qiang attended the opening ceremony of the annual conference and delivered a keynote speech. State Councilor and Secretary-General of the State Council Wu Zhenglong, President of the New Development Bank Dilma Rousseff, President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Jin Jong-young, as well as representatives from international organizations, domestic and foreign entrepreneurs, government officials, and well-known scholars, totaling about 750 people, participated in the opening ceremony.

The theme of this annual conference is "China in the 15th Five-Year Plan: High-Quality Development and Co-Creating New Opportunities." The participating guests will hold 13 special seminars and multiple closed-door discussions focusing on topics such as macro policies and high-quality development, new trends in consumption growth, green and low-carbon transformation, future industrial development, and the industrial application of artificial intelligence.
Well-known entrepreneurs from China and abroad participated in discussions and exchanges. Foreign company representatives included Apple CEO Tim Cook, BASF Executive Board Chairman Kurt Bock, Qualcomm President Cristiano Amon, Temasek Holdings Chairman Lim Boon Heng, and Mercedes-Benz Group Supervisory Board Chairman Ola K?llenius; Chinese company representatives included CITIC Group Chairman Xi Guohua, China National Petroleum Corporation Chairman Dai Houliang, State Grid Corporation Chairman Zhang Zhigang, and other central enterprise representatives, as well as private enterprise representatives such as Alibaba Group Chairman Joseph Tsai, Xiaomi Group Chairman and CEO Lei Jun, Shenghong Holdings Group Chairman Miao Hangen, and New Hope Group Chairman Liu Yonghao.
The China Development Forum is hosted by the Development Research Center of the State Council and organized by the China Development Research Foundation. The forum is the first national-level large international forum after the "Two Sessions" and aims to "dialogue with the world and seek common development." Since its first session in 2000, the forum has developed a distinctive feature of professionalism and high-level participation, and has become an important platform for exchange and dialogue between China's senior government officials, global business leaders, international organizations, and Chinese and foreign scholars.
